Synopsis
This series of nine short films blends contemporary dance with architecture across Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, France, and Ukraine. Each film uniquely explores how the structures around us interact with the fluidity of the human body, encouraging viewers to rediscover the architecture of different eras and regions.
From France’s windswept coastlines to Latvia’s historic arenas, these films reveal how architecture, often seen as static, becomes dynamic when paired with dance. In Lithuania, the National Drama Theatre and the Palace of Marriage host stories of transformation, while in Ukraine, the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Library serves as a space for experiments with gravity. Estonia’s Arvo Pärt Centre blurs the line between inside and outside, creating a surreal dance environment, and a film in Latvia reflects on reconnecting with a familiar place that has changed beyond recognition. Through this project, viewers are encouraged to see architecture not just as a backdrop but as an active participant in our lives.
